The Problem
How might we improve the podcasting production cycle with AI?

Create a production system that allows the podcaster to create podcast and content more efficiently.
User Research
Insights
Creative Burnout
Veteran podcaster, sooner or later, run out of ideas for new episode. Finding information or motivation was often a lengthy process that made new episode topics intimidating to begin.
New Podcast Expectations
Podcasting as a whole has evolved to be more accessible with elements like transcripts and chapters.
Content Creation
Podcasters use social media and websites to promote their shows. This requires constant marketing assets that have to be created for each episode.
Low-fidelity Prototype
In order for Blubrry’s AI to begin the production process the user must first input information about the show. I began with reviewing the podcasters typical production flow. Then brainstorm where and when AI could help with current pain points, lengthy processes, and idea exploration. I visualized this user journey with wireframes.
Usability Study
I tested and shared my wireframes with the Blubrry team. At my demonstration I received feedback on the AI system:
User Journey
The team liked how in-depth the production system helped with current podcaster’s process.
Navigation
The step-by-step process helped break down more complicated productions, making it easier for new AI users to understand.
AI Integration
Blubrry felt the biggest win was the secondary content creation. Being able to create visuals like episode art and social media posts will save podcasters time per episode.
High-fidelity Prototype
I used my feedback from my meetings with the team and users to refine my prototype.
Evaluation
Reception
AI Users were excited to try out a system that helped them create podcast and content all in the same dashboard.
Production
My wireframes made it easy for the development team to visualize and build AI into the Blubrry’s software.
Next Steps
I would elevate this product with the now standardized layout of a search bar/chat system that the AI spaces like ChatGPT have popularized.
